Inspired by its charm, Brendan, Burcin, and their 5-year-old son Bohdi, aka "The Honey Pack," packed up and made the move—and according to them, it’s the best decision they’ve ever made.

For this adventurous trio, Cartersville is more than just a new address; it’s home. With its welcoming community, exciting family events, and endless outdoor activities, they’ve found their happy place right here.

Burcin loves the welcoming vibe and endless activities.

“Everyone that lives here is super nice, and they like to have conversations with you! It really feels like everyone is there to support you.”

Brendan appreciates how every weekend brings something new to explore.

“There's nothing like the community that's here. And the local events—they aren't just a highlight of our month, but every weekend that we spend here!”

And Bohdi? He’s all about the fun! 

“I love looking at the Cowboys at the Booth Museum. I love playing at Sagebrush Ranch. I love hiking. I love it here in Cartersville and I think that other kids will love it too.”

The Tellus Museum

If your kids love dinosaurs, they’ll be blown away by the 80-foot Brontosaurus at The Tellus Museum. With 120,000 square feet of fascinating exhibits, including a replica Wright flyer and a planetarium for stargazing, it’s a must-see for curious minds. Kids can also enjoy hands-on science experiences and explore galleries devoted to minerals, fossils, and technology.

The Etowah Indian Mounds

This 54-acre site is full of history, with six earthen mounds, a village, and a defensive ditch to discover. Follow the family-friendly nature trail along the Etowah River, where you can see a cool V-shaped fish trap used by ancient civilizations and learn how native trees were important for food and medicine.

Located in downtown Cartersville, Friendship Plaza is the community hub, hosting concerts, festivals, and other family-friendly events. The park is named after a unique monument honoring the man who brought trains to Cartersville, making it a spot where history and fun intersect.

“As a family, one thing that we really love to do is go to the Friendship Plaza and just move around, dance, and roll around on the grass. And the Summer Concert Series at Friendship Plaza is really good music with good company. ” - Brendan

No family trip is complete without ice cream! Coconuts Ice Cream has been Cartersville’s go-to spot for authentic Hawaiian-style shaved ice since 1998. It’s the perfect treat after a day of exploring.

“One of our favorite things to do as a family is to drive to Red Top Mountain State Park. The drive into it—you are going into a completely another universe. We love hiking, and you're just in this forest area completely close to nature.” - Brendan
