There are only so many places in the world that are as captivating as Charleston, South Carolina. The city is filled with character, charm, and history—and it’s brought to life through the people and businesses that call Charleston home. One of the local classics is the HarbourView Inn, located on the water in the heart of Charleston’s Historic District. Overlooking views of scenic Concord Street, this beautiful building started out as a 1930’s indigo cotton warehouse—it was the first waterfront hotel in the Historic District—but times have changed, and so has HarbourView. After its recent $1 million interior refresh, the inn is ready for today’s travelers to enjoy everything they have to offer.

The refresh of the already stunning HarbourView Inn embodies modern Charleston. With newly designed guest rooms, travelers have an unforgettable sense of comfort while being immersed in local character. Designed by notable South Carolina-based interior designer, Jenny Keenan, the inn showcases stunning painted teal armoires, fabricated custom drapery, fine carpets, and original, hand-charcoal drawings commissioned by local artist, David Boatwright, which are unique to each room.

The new additions even expand to the roof, where the inn’s highly popular terrace—the only private rooftop in the historic district—allows guests to indulge in complimentary wine and cheese while lounging on custom furniture and taking in scenic views. The terrace overlooks Waterfront Park and the historic harbor, along with the rest of the Charleston skyline—the view is unmatched.

Besides the convenient on-site parking and late checkout, HarbourView also provides all-day gourmet culinary offerings. Your day could start out with a homemade artisanal breakfast in the dining room, or in the comfort of your bedroom. If you are in a rush to see the city you can grab a flavored tea, coffee, and snacks at the front lobby on your way out. In the afternoon on the rooftop terrace, guests can begin the evening with a complimentary glass of wine, cheese, charcuterie, and other local southern classics, before heading to one of the many restaurants nearby. In the mood for a late night treat? Try a fresh cookie and glass of milk before you head up to bed.

Parking can be tricky at some spots in the city, so for those who don’t want to deal with the hassle of finding a spot—or spend too much time walking—HarbourView has branded beach cruiser bicycles for rent to make exploring the city a lot more convenient.

The Inn also has a unique employee known as the Chief Getaway Officer (CGO), who is there to help coordinate picnics, walking tours and bar crawls around the city, spa appointments, sunset cruises, and private fitness classes. With the help of the CGO, you can make every moment of your trip memorable.

With the world opening back up, many have been deciding where to take their next trip. The intimate retreat that is HarbourView Inn sets the stage for unforgettable adventure in one of America’s most treasured cities.
