You’re Invited: The Sandestin Gumbo Festival

You don’t need a reason to visit Florida’s stunning Emerald Coast, but if you were looking for one, the 34th Annual Sandestin Gumbo Festival is here to answer the call! The winter event—one of the season’ largest along the coast—is kicking off February 24th, and you won’t want to miss the opportunity to enjoy live music, family activities, and the best gumbo cook-off on the Gulf Coast.

The kick-off party starts at 5pm at Hammerhead’s Bar and Grille, a dockside restaurant that brings the Gulf Coast vibes. There, guests will treat their taste buds to a coastal favorite—a traditional seafood boil. Can’t wait for the fun to start? You can get there early to catch the live music that begins at 4pm!

After a night well spent at Hammerhead’s, rest up for the Main Event on Saturday the 25th at noon—you’re going to have some tough decisions to make, like dark or light roux? Sausage or seafood? With live music setting the mood, you’ll get to try each Gulf Coast restaurant’s take on gumbo, then vote for your favorite as the “People’s Choice” winner! Celebrity judges will also debate which restaurant will take home the top prize. Don’t worry—there are activities for the kids too!

Gumbo isn’t the only thing that needs your vote—the Best Bloody Marys at the Beach competition is back too! Sip on bloody marys from the finest bars and restaurants, then cast your vote for the “Best Bloody Mary at The Beach!"
