The Kress Building offers event space like no other

Words by Paige Townley

The Kress Building has been a part of the downtown Birmingham landscape for decades. Built in 1937, the historic structure has served as home for many organizations over the years, and in addition to it being the current office space of local attorneys Wiggins, Childs, Pantazis, Fisher & Goldfarb, it also features one of the most unique event venues in the Magic City.

Some of the very best views of the city can be found on the Kress’ rooftop. Featuring 360-degree views of downtown, the rooftop offers both indoor and outdoor space, a full prep kitchen, audio/video, and a bocce court, which can all be enjoyed by upwards of 350 people. Complementing this sought-after space is the Kress Building’s Ballroom, which recently underwent major updates to transform it into one of the most unique in all of Birmingham. The newly-remodeled ballroom boasts more than 6,000 square feet of total space, making it large enough to host any type of event. In addition to space that can comfortably host upwards of 550 people, the ballroom includes a stage, LED wall, audio/video, a prep kitchen, and lounge area, cake area, bar, and even conference areas.

Weddings, conferences, corporate events, or even family gatherings easily become a timeless experience when hosted at the Kress. And thanks to its multi-use facilities, it’s truly a rental space that can add to the uniqueness of any event.
