Snow Fest @ 4118

There are snow many reasons to visit Highlands, North Carolina this month

Avoiding the cold and sitting inside by the warmth of the fire is one way to manage the winter weather, but in Highlands, North Carolina, wintertime means celebrating the very best the season has to offer—and doing so at an elevation of 4,118 feet above sea level.

The mountain town turns its attention to all things snow each year with Snow Fest @ 4118, a two-day event that’s centered around the fun activities that only wintertime can offer, and it’s always snow much fun. There’s snowball tosses, snow tube merry-go-rounds, snow slides, snow yoga, magical igloos, and, of course, ice skating. Also included in the event’s merriment are chill beats spun by a DJ.

Held at Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park in Highlands, Snow Fest @ 4118 is hosted by the Highlands Chamber of Commerce/Visit Highlands NC. “Snow Fest is a great way to keep the fun and spirit of the season going after the holidays have concluded. Highlands is the perfect backdrop for a winter wonderland that can be enjoyed by the entire community, especially families with younger children,” says Kaye McHan, executive director of the Highlands Chamber of Commerce.

This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, January 27 and Sunday, January 28 from 11am until 5pm. Learn more about Snow Fest @ 4118 here or get a visual of the annual event here.
