Calling All Seamstresses: Our Nurses Need You

Calling All Seamstresses: Our Nurses Need You

Remember our story about designer Heidi Elnora? She's stepping up for the community in a big way. Right now, doctors and nurses are more in need of masks than ever before, and Heidi is helping to make sure they get them. She designed a mask pattern that anyone can follow, and she's rounding up a team of volunteer seamstresses to start sewing! You don't have to be a professional to help (you can do it for a craft day with the kids!), but if sewing is not your thing, sending just a $10 donation covers the cost of labor and materials for a mask. Here's how you can get started:

Materials Needed

  • Scissors
  • Pins
  • Woven Cotton Fabric (MUST be woven)
  • Interfacing Muslin, Flannel, or Linen
  • 1/8" Elastic
  • Thread
  • Sewing Machine
  • Pattern (Downloadable below and is printable on 8.5” X 11” paper.) The finished size of the pattern is 9” X 6”. Please check your printer settings if the size doesn’t match the above specifications.
