rowing up in a small town in the heart of Georgia, Cedric Smith spent sum mers at his grandmother’s house in the country. He picked plump plums off trees, waded in the waters to scoop crawfish out of their muddy homes, and hammered nails into the final pieces of wood that made up his clubhouse.
